When I think about empowering women I don’t immediately think about myself, so I’m not going to post a selfie. Instead I’d like to focus on issues that are affecting women across the world.
1. Image of some of the #murderedandmissingindigenouswomen
in Canada from @kairos.canada
There is so much more work to be done here in Canada to protect and support Indigenous women and to address the trauma inflicted by my/ our ancestors.
2. I’m appalled that the murders of #breonnataylor
still haven’t been charged for shooting her on March 13, 2020.
3. I learned that this #challengeaccepted
thing was originally created to bring awareness to femicide in Turkey. The recent killing of a 27-year-old student, Pinar GÜltekin, at the hands of her former boyfriend sent shockwaves through the country and brought light to more than 27 recent murdered women’s abusive situations. I adore and honour the strong, talented, brave, and fine women who tagged me in this challenge. I see you and I will continue to lift you up and shine a light on your loveliness. ❤️💗 @emc7z @boldlove @moirekiyingi @lamerveilleuse
